    WANTED: Shotgun or Slingshot Fuse

I had a little misshap with my Shotgun on landing yesterday and i'm in the need for a fuse. If you happen to have one laying around that you are interested in selling let me know. I would be good with either a Shotgun or Slingshot fuse as I've been told they are basically the same fuse beside the tail section. If you have a Slingshot then I would need the tail for it as well.

    Thanks,

RE: WANTED: Shotgun or Slingshot Fuse

I'm sure hopeful. The big proposal at work has to be pretty much done by Friday, so I hope I'll be able to.

I haven't flown anything except my little flat foamie in the backyard since last fall. I guess someone has to suck at the races, eh? Might as well be me..

I am hoping that I can get out Thursday evening if it's not raining, at least fly the 424's a little bit. Might save 426 for the next race or two..

Hey, how bad is your fuse? I've patched together a couple of fiberglass fuselages over the years, maybe it can be salvaged?

RE: WANTED: Shotgun or Slingshot Fuse

To be honest I haven't looked at it real close.  I might be able to get it back good enough for a practice plane but I was having some "issues" with it prior to the bad landing.  Not sure what I did to it but last fall it was flying great and would take off really good.  I took it out for a little practice a couple weeks ago and smacked the muffler on landing.  It had the little brass inserts that you screw in for the blind nuts on the firewall and they got pulled out a little so I took them out, filled the holes with wooden dowls, redrilled it and put the standard T-nut in it.  Also at that time I decided I wanted to paint it so I did some patching and got the fuse painted.  After that as soon as moe would let go of the tail it would take a hard right on take off and wouldn't track very good.  Everytime I took it up I had to re-trim it.  So I'm not sure I want to even mess with it all that much.

I hope you are able to get the proposal done and are able to make it.  But you have to fly 426 its too much fun not too.

True, it is. Any chance the l/g was a little tweaked, or a wheel dragging? You probably already checked for that, though.

Patch it back up for a practice plane for sure! The darned things have gotten too expensive to just toss 'em aside.

I didn't check the landing gear in detail but there nothing stood out but it's a good idea cause it doesn't seem to have a yaw issue when it's flying. I had a slightly sticky wheel so I replaced them with some new ones and it didn't change a thing.

Once I have all the fuses that I owe to other people done I'll dig into it deeper to see how bad it really is.

what wing are you using with the seeker fuse? I have a couple of the seeker fuse kits that I haven't built yet. I hate the thought of buying a 300 dollar composite wing, though. I'd rather build one - sheeted foam core.

What can I say, I'm cheap! (I'd say thrifty, but we all know that's not true..)

I really like the sheeted foam wing you can get from Super T RC. I think it's $95 plus shipping and it's vaccumed baged and really strong.I'd have no concerns usinging it ona 426 plane, in fact my primary 424 Seeker is one of my 426 back ups. All you have to do is cut in your ailerons and put some wing tips on them. For wing tips I've used a set from Jim Allen and some from wrecked vortex wings. Personally I like the vortex wingtips better but purley for looks and they are a little easier to put on. I have one set of vortex wing tips left thatI'm thinking about making a mold off of so I can make them when ever I need a set rather than waiting on a wrecked wing.

What is the chances you would be interested in selling one of those kits?

    we ought to talk..

I see the 95.00 sheeting wing on SuperT's website, under the hurrikane section. Is it the same airfoil as the seeker? 66012 or whatever it is?
