KCRC Fall 2011 424 & 426 Race - October 1st and 2nd
The Fall KCRC 424 & 426 2 day race is a short 4 weeks away - October 1st & 2nd. It is two one day races so even if you can only make it out one day come on out and enjoy a great race at a great flying site.
This will be the first two races in the District 5 2012 -424 Lead Goose and 426 Cauldron trophies. With the turnout we've had the last couple years you have a great opportunity to get an early start on your points.
Highlights:
Judgeman Digital Light System
Experienced work force
Great flying site
Tough competition and some donkeys from the flatlands of KS.
Short course action
And of courseChop Ulledahl will be cooking up somebarbeque brisket and porkbutton Saturday night after the races.
Finally to borrow a line from AJ, let the bench racing begin.

AJ I know it's been a while since you've been to the hill country and you might be a little disoriented but don't worry one of us will be glad to show you the way around the course.
Eddie, that will be Duane's call. He's been working 12 hour days so I'm not sure how often he's looking at the forums. I'll see if I can get an answer out of him.
I'm sure he'll want/need to know that amount of interest in it. So if you guys are interested in flying EF1 post it here so we can see what kind of interest there will be.
I will say that when they tried to do 3 classes at Muncie during the fall race it made for a pretty late day. If I remember correctly the racing ended around 6. Then once results are calculated and if you have a couple fly offs your looking closer to 7 with the trophy presentation. That puts it pretty late, especially on Saturday night with the dinner. But that is purely my thoughts and opinion.

Duane,
Put me down for both days - 424 and 426.

FYI - I talked with Duane Gall. He is planning to attend both days also.

Ok I talked with Duane this morning and it looks like we are going to pass on EF1 at this point. He is concerned that it would make for too long of a day for everyone trying to fly all three classes.

Lonnie, thanks for the offer to show me around the poles. I'll try to stay out of everyone's way...
I loaned my EF1 Pogo to my father for their first race in Billings, MT in 10+ years. Which just happens to be the same weekend as KCRC, need to make sure they're aware of that scheduling conflict. Since because Billings, MT and Kansas City, MO are always competing for the same pilots.
Parts showed up from DCRC today. Lock and load.

Figured it was the least I could do. The only ones you really need to avoid are those guys from the flat lands (mainly Wichita). They don't seem to like it when your out in front and tend to cut your tail off. You know who you are Bangy Bangerson.
Parts huh? Putting some secret weapons in your planes? Guess I ought to get that Viper of yours back from my daughters play room. Don't worry she has done some great work on it for you.

No, AJ - that would be me.. at the Hillsdale race, I used up three airplanes.. 2 424's and my 426. Ouch.
One mid-air, that might have even been head on, it was pretty spectacular.. scratch one 424
One pylon two, I hit the wooden dowel with the flag at the top of the pole the very next heat of 424.
Not sure what happened to the 426, it might have been bad air as I followed Lonnie around 2-3. It was a pretty good race - well, up to a point! Either that, or I was just too low and caught the wingtip. I vote for bad air
I believe lonnie had one mid-air that day - something like that, anyway. I was the clear loser when it came to airplane count!

I wouldn't crash nearly as much if people would understand that I get to choose my line and then they can choose theirs.

Lonnie,
Bring your Shoestring so RBTHNTR64 can check it out.
Or did you crash it?
Gordon,
We have all had those races. You did the right thing to leave the Pogo in the car. Somedays the Pylon Gods are angry, you must stop the offerings at some point.
