RE: KCRC Fall 2011 424 & 426 Race - October 1st and 2nd
Hey AJ,
Thanks for the advice on my Viper set up. Youre old man and I got the viper up and running yesterday. It started out rough but ended with me making my first two Viper flights. Still coming down from the rush. I'm the wack job your Dad has been helping/harrasing. It was my idea to start this Billings racing thing back up here, lots of resistance at first until I asked and I enlisted your Dad. He's got a little more muscle around here. He's teaching me the fine art of bench racing and I'm going over to raid his shop today. Look forward to having a sactioned event here next flying season. Thanks again,
Ed Alves

RE: KCRC Fall 2011 424 & 426 Race - October 1st and 2nd
Sorry I havent participated in this discussion about the race. I have been working crazy hours and weekends. Thanks Lonnie for getting things going. Also sorry I didnt make it to the Wichita race.
I did talk to Dan "Chop" Ulledahl today and the barbeque is on for saturday night. He is cooking brisket and porkbutt. As many of you know instead of racing he has been going to barbeque competitions and doing quite well. We will have beer and soft drinks for the barbeque.
We will have the Famous Logan (assistant Nats starter) as our starter, so things should go as well as planned. In the past this race has brought close to 30 entries in the 424 class. We already have people coming from Colorado, South Dakota, Texas, Kansas, and of course Missouri. It would be nice to get the CAPS and WIPRO guys, because this is the first race for the 2012 season points.
Hope to see everybody in a couple of weeks.

Several of us have made motel reservations at the Lees Summit “Super 8â€. It is a few blocks from Duane’s house.
I plan to get there on Thursday. If you want to practice, give me a call on my cell phone.

Glad you're able to make it up, Scott. Look forward to racing with you!
The new 424 plane is working out ok, still got some tuning to do on the 426. Hope to be able to get out this weekend, we'll see. Heck, it took me three days to get around to unloading the planes from the car after the Wichita race!

Ed,
Glad to hear the new Viper is good to go. I will say that my father is not the first to get a v-tail rudder reversed. Though I will continue to harass as if he were.
T-1 week. Batteries are charging. Need to get my beat up Vortex Sport Jett ready, and then it's on!

AJ,
Ya didn't have to roll on him, I never mentioned what caused the rough start? Ha, Ha, just glad I had an airplane left when we fiqured it out? Your Old Man reminds me of mine, old school. I appreciate him and his help. I'll have plenty of time to mess with him after I can back it up! Take care, look forward to meeting you down the road, thanks again!

New Computer for the timing system is purchased and the software is installed. Now to get the lights out and to do a full system check.
AJ a Vortex, really? You think that is gonna help you keep up with us? I got your Viper back from my daughter and have it fixed, well sort of fixed.
Hopefully the bangy bangersons from Wichita will stay away from the rest of the planes.

If you K/C Hillfolk would stay high and wide,
So the scary fast Flatlander planes wouldn't need to try to dodge all your matrix filler stuff, You wouldn't get midaired!
Let the smack talk begin!!!!!!

Hello GUYs! I will be cooking this weekend I just got done watching the weather Friday 70 Saturday 71 Sunday 80! Sounds really nice! Bring some warm clothes for the morning... I plan on picking up meat today I will also be making a couple of sides. The cost will be determined Saturday after the head count. All I want is enough to cover the cost of what I put in. Did I mention it is officially award winning Barbeque?! Let's talk everybody into hanging out!
AJ, Can't wait to see you are you bringing the family?
I talked to Logan he will be there Saturday all day. He started a new job and cannot be there Sunday.
I plan on flying we will see how it goes (I had to have an eyeball shot last week)

Chop,
No family this trip, Michele has to work.

Just a heads up, the sign for the flying field on Woods Chapel road has been removed. For those coming from out of town off of 470, turn right off of woods chapel at the Jackson County Sheriff sign. Hopefully it will be restored by tomorrow, but if not just remember to turn at the Sheriff's office sign. I'm sure the good guys from KCRC will have signs out also.

Hey guys, cracking weekend :-)
Started weekend with two planes... came home with two. Result Think I only found a grove on R5H5 of the 2nd day... could have gone on for another 5 heats. Still I think it was a good time to stop (as I may have not come home with two planes)
Thanks again to everyone who made it possible. The wife and kids seemed to enjoy themselves which I thought was going to be half the battle.
I'll get the photos up on gallery.uas3d.com as soon as I've filtered out the rubbish.
Thanks to Bob for calling for me.
It's a shame that it's the end of the season, indoor pylon racing anyone?
