Kevin: What are the essential differences between the Candy Kane and the HurriKane? From the pictures, the appear to be very much alike. Of course, this may actually be a question for Dan.

You are correct, the model is based upon Dan Kane's HurriKane. Dan is onboard with this project.

Kevin has made some minor tweeks so that it goes together with a fiberglass fuselage. These are what I recall:

1) The tail is moved upward a little in the fuselage to allow for easier tail attachment.

2) The top surface of the nose (typical tank location) is lowered a little so the fuselage doesn't go over the leading edge of the wing.

3) The servos will typically be mounted below the wing instead of behind the wing.

Kevin, comment if I get something wrong. Scott

You have it all right Scott. I change the name a little just to let racer know it is new with a Epoxy Carbon and Kevlar fiberglass fuse.

EXCELLENT! Any chance that you can pull a second mold with a S8064 or S8052 wing saddle? I don't know if they are REALLY better than an NACA 66-012 but Xfoil sure seems to think so.

It is called pattern dough. I roll it out with a 2" pvc tube to 1/4" thick. Then cover it all up 1 layer of 6 oz fiberglass.

Can you tell us more a out this "Pattern Dough"

Some random questions...

Is it home made or store bought?
If store bought can you share a link?
How is it activated?
How hard does it get?
Heavy or Light?
What's your experience with shrinkage or cracking?

Thanks Kevin

I'm ready and waiting for my two kits.

There is likely to be a construction thread on a Candy Kane in the near future.

Way to go Kevin!
