The following shows filling any pinholes prior to painting.
I initially addressed the larger holes with polyester filler (like Bondo). This was sanded smooth with progressively finer paper.
Pinholes were filled by gently working in lightweight spackle in with fingers or squeegee. Cover the entire surface with a thin layer.
After a couple hours the spackle is dry. Lightly sand with 220 grit paper used dry.

The primer dried in a couple hours. The surface was lightly sanded (dry) with 400 grit sandpaper. Follow with a tack rag to remove the dust.
A light coat of red Acrylic Enamel was applied on the model. This was then set out of the way to dry.

The gear was shaped with a file.
I attached the gear with a button head screws and 6 x 32 hardware. Use medium Loctite to secure the screws.
The tail skid was attached with medium CA.

The fuselage finish is fine without the clear coat so I chose to leave it off to save a little weight.
The wing was wet sanded in preparation of the trim colors.

A wing stencil was purchased from the local sign shop.
The wing was masked off with a simple series of stripes.
Several light coats of Krylon were applied until the paint covered. In a couple minutes the paint dried to the touch and the masking was removed.

The pictures give a brief overview of what it will look like upon completion.
I plan to apply clear coat tomorrow.
I'm hoping this model flies as good as Duane's "MOKAN".

The edges of the trim were feathered in with 800 grit wet and dry sandpaper used wet.
I then baked the Krylon trim with a heat gun. This reduces the possibility that the clear coat will lift it from the surface during the painting process.
A very light coat of clear coat was initially sprayed on. After a few minutes the surface was sprayed until the surface started to shine.

The completed 424 (TT Pro 40 powered) model weighed in at 61.3 ounces, or about 1.3 ounces over the minimum weight.
This model is constructed strong enough for 426 or 428 class. Just bolt on the appropriate engine, change to a 6 ounce tank, and fly.
