After several coats of primer and sanding in-between, the tail plug looks almost ready for paint. So I will make the parting plate this weekend.

Dean Stone came over on Saturday and he seemed to think the tail half plug was in pretty decent shape. I'm going to make the parting plate over the next couple of days and publish the video

It was a great visit with Dean. He is going to put one of my molded composite Swee' Pea planes together for me. That's one of the reasons I'm in this hobby. If you ever want to Facetime or Skype, send me a txt to 7049682881.

I am enjoying getting back to doing construction videos. I will still be doing videos for ARF kits, especially those sold by Airborne Models.com for my AirBorne Models Showcase. I do have a working relationship with AirBorne as the Showcase is listed on their site and I get some consideration as StegallHobbies.com is a dealer for them. I will soon be adding the Club 40 planes and EF1 planes to StegallHobbies.com. And I worked with Fai at AirBorne on the EF1 project for the Outrageous / Scarlet Screamer and with Dan Kane and Jerry Small. BTW, the price of the EF1 kits and parts have just been reduced.

Some of my videos have gotten comments and I get emails about the videos. I try to improve, but sometimes I just have to go with what is recorded, because you don't get a second chance to epoxy or sometimes CA something together. And I can't take forever editing videos to be perfect because I have a LOT to do. I push myself very hard.

I'm working on Part 3 of the Quickie Tail Molds series.

I am having some challenges besides time. The weather has not been good for the paint I use (Nelson Hobby Paint). My garage is a mess from where we moved some stuff out of storage and I don't have full room and enough space to use my propane space heater. This paint likes the temp to be 70 or above. Then while I was painting one side of the plug, my air compressor bit the dust. Second one I've gone through. I found a little Porter Cable pancake on sale at Home Depot for $99 and I placed an order for it for pickup. It will do 3.5 CFM at 40 PSI, which hopefully will work with my SATA MiniJet 3 HVLP paint gun.

I had a little run on the trailing edge but I was able to minimize it with some Viva paper towel. I had coverage problems with the pink over the gray primer, so I will put white over the primer on the other side.

In this part of the video, I will cover painting, sanding, compounding, polishing, and waxing the plug and parting plate. Plus putting the plug into the parting plate and putting on the parting film. It will probably be 4-7 days before the video is ready.

I found a better air compressor before I had opened the one from Home Depot. It puts out more almost 5 SCFM at 40 PSI and should work with my HVLP gun. I've gone through two oil-less compressors. This one is oil lubricated. I have enough filters and cooling hose that oil and heated air should not be a problem

I have sanded the parting plate and the side of the plug that was painted. I used 400 grit.

Weather is supposed to be better today, so I should get to paint some more.
