That is not too bad... You could have done worse, I too have made the same mistake... I have been told to always go over you're paint tape and make sure it is all pushed down right before you shoot the paint... I used the blue 3m tape and did checkerboard on my tail on my polecat... It is ok, not perfect, slightly better than you're job came out.... You can fix some of those blemishes with a very fine touch up brush and you're black paint... This is a small q-tip style brush in the arts department, like in plastic models, very small tip, about the size of a pin head, I used this style brush to touch up my corners that came up like you'res... After the clear coat, I can no longer see them!!! No one would even notice unless I pointed some of them out to you...

This is the tape that I used on my first attempt at checkerboards, I would say that they came out "ok" but the poor job was not the tapes fault. I will use this stuff on my next project and will just pay more attention to making sure the tape is pushed down everywhere. You can get it at any Ace Hardware or Home Depot, its nothing special just regular ole' blue masking tape.

Here are some Ive made and sold years ago when the dodger was alive....
The first one was mid aired I think with Gail Jacobson.... not positive on that one... it landed though, put some clear tape on the wing and won fast time next day.

Here's a new Seeker my brother and I just finished up.
Fully glassed with .56 oz cloth and Z-poxy2.
Should be a bullet, we recently glassed the fuse on his first Seeker. It is really scoot'n with the new used motor Norman hooked us up with.
Once again I'd like to thank Bill Vargas and Dave Norman for offering such a great woody. It's made Brian's re-entry in 428 possible and his big brother very happy...

RE: Post pictures of your RACERS!
I thought I would revive the ole "Show Us Your Plane" thread.
Here is my Saturday paint jobs. Just a suggestion, don't try to paint 3 racers on the same day. Too much, especially on Mother's day weekend. I know, I know, what was I thinking... Not sure.

You're probably right. I was feeling pretty puny all day Thursday. I'd do it again in a heart beat though. Drinking coldies and talking racing, does it get any better?

You're right there, it doesn't get any better.. Thanks again, it was a good time.. Well, other than flying home with a hangover... It took me until Saturday before I could look a beer in the eye again.

Thanks Gary. It's amazing what you do with PhotoShop... [8D]
I figured I'd catch some static from you and Jimmy for ripping off the flamed nosed on the Q500's. Never said I was original though...
Any time Lee...

RE: Post pictures of your RACERS!
Polecat just finished. For some reason this airplane and I have been at odds since the day I got the kit. I have built 4 racers while building this thing. Every now and then, I get an airplane that just seems to fight me every step of the way as I try to build it, but this one took the cake. For example, when I sprayed the final clear coat on the plane, as I was watching it, it instantly turned into an alligator skin right before my eyes! Never had that happen before, and had to sand the whole thing down and start again. It could be better, but I already have about 70 hours into this thing and it is what it is!

I would fly it in primer before spending 70 hours on it Looks great man.. I might be able to pull off a paint job like that if I had a little patience.. Oh, and some skill

This is an Aussie S1d racer, basically our version of 424.
Thanks,
Tony.

Just about finished, just waiting for a fuel tank, battery and receiver and it should be ready to test fly Saturday.
A little heavier than I had hoped, but not bad, should finish at roughly 3 lbs 11 oz.
