For a true comparison, how many hours does a Mexican modeller earning the average wage have to work, to buy the materials you listed.

Oddy,
It almost looks like you would be better off buying a kit from America.
Bill's Racer 2 is still competitive, it looks like Lewis's Pacemaker and Vector will be a good competitive value, and even the Lanier dominator is not out of the ball park.
Why would you try to kit yourselves at those prices?
And, as Ed noted, your average salary I would assume is a bit lower than that in the U.S.

RE: Q500 Micro-economics
Hello,
Having a friend and fellow q-500 racer that in South America at one time, I can understand the increased cost. I used to ship him kits, glue and general supplies from our church to his church there. They were paying almost double what we pay here.
I bet if you were to contact any kit manufacturer they might work with you. I know shipping might be an issue and they will not insure to all locations due to theft issues.

RE: Q500 Micro-economics
Actually my intention of this comparison is not to Kit any Q500.
It is only to compare how it looks our costs vs. those in other countries.
The average salary of the Total Mexican population I think wouldn´t be representative of the Aeromodelist population Income in México, (Mexican population income is much lower)
My best aproach would be the following
Income Rate--------------------------------$$$$$Income$$$$$--------------Aerom. Population %
Low Income Aeromodelists -------- from 1,000 to 2,000 usd monthly-------------40%
Medium Income Aeromodelists -----from 3,000 to 5,000 usd monthly------------40%
High Income Aeromodelists----------More than 5,000 usd monthly----------------20%
Regards.
Victor.
