Lanier Predator Rolling Left
Hello Guy's,
I have a Lanier Predator with a Jett engine bolted up to it. We took it out
for it's first flight and found it to be rolling to the left. We then put a shim
between the motor and firewall. Now after doing this we tried again and it
still rolled to the left.Could some make some suggestion for me?
Thanks,
Jetway.

I hold quite a bit of right rudder, V-tail or standard, along with some right aileron. Just how much depends on the launch (I assume you are launching a full power). The harder the push on the launch the less right you need. For me this applies to all classes.

twist in the wing or tip of the wing, more right aileron, check rudder for trueness..... Where are the ailerons now? Put right trim in it until it tracks straight, then see how far off they are, if they are bad, you can heat and twist the wing or cut the bottom side and re-position to match the aileron and re-glue........ Make sure tail is on straight and check the V-tail rudders for correct alignment..........

The right aileron is about 1/16 of an inch above the wing surface
and the left one is about the same on th bottom side. The V-tail
seems to be on straight but it has a bit of down elevator in it
because it wants to climb a bit. All of this is in flight. When taking
off it tracks straight but once up there this is when i get the
roll to the left with the climbing.

RE: Lanier Predator Rolling Left
I had a plane develop a nasty roll (can't remember which direction) at high speed when one of the aileron corners came untaped (I did the taping the outboard corners thing before I ever flew it). Redoing the tape fixed it but I retired the plane after that, figuring I didn't want to rely on a piece of tape to keep the thing out of me and the pits. The roll was so hard that full aileron didn't counter it; I almost lost the plane before I got it slowed down enough that the aileron untwisted (or something..) and it came back into trim. weird.
