RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
Hello Dave, can you fit a Predator II wing on your fuse? Pls let me know I'd be interested in one. Got an extra wing aound the house and would much rather use one of your fuses instead of the original. Good Luck,
Luis

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
Dave, I think your last club race is today.
Does the Seeker/Viper is ready for the race?
What are the results, if it flies for the race?
Claude.

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
We had our last race of the year today. I flew the same seeker I have used at every club race for the past two years and came in first. We then had our chase for the race flyoff, top 8 from the season. I came in 2nd, and another competitor with a seeker came in first.
I have not finished my Viper / Seeker combo.

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
Dang,
I see I missed Louis' question above. I have never tried to mount a predator wing to a seeker. I am sure it can be done, but it will most likely require some filling with balsa and a new potting job.

Here are some pictures about how the Seeker fuse and Viper wing fit.
1- shows the gap between the fuse and the wing
2- the balsa fill on the Seeker fuse
3- the tight fit of the control of ailerons from the downside of the fuse.

I would just dremel away some of the wood around the aileron torque rods, but don't remove too much, it doesn't look like there is a lot of room or you'll not have enough wood for the wing mounting bolts.

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
My first Seeker fuse kit with a Viper wing is ready to fly at the beginning of this year.
The weather is not really fine for a first flight but I can wait.
This plane will be my number three for the Q500 Eurocup 2007. Number one and two will be a Seeker composite and a Vortex with Nelson Q500 engines.
Happy New Year to all pylon racers on this forum.

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
I just finish up new Fuse and tail molds, will be pulling first this week. They will be painted in mold and have a removable tail. The old R-200 would pull to the left on take off, new one has a larger tail and tail moment is a little higher. I have orders for a dozen right now so would be a couple months out. If you check out the NCPL web site you will see the R-200 won both 426 & 428 point totals. The R-200 and R-140 are the winningest plane in NCPL history. I will get back to you on price once I start making.

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
Randy,
You loved throwing in that R200 comment in a seeker thread, didn't you
You also know, that if I hadn't skipped a 426 (NCPL 500) race to practice for the Nats, a Seeker would have won that title.
Add to that, 2 seekers and a viper of all planes beat you in the NCPL Shootout this year. Let me guess, the starter got the order wrong again, and you really came in first?
Lastly, since were having fun, the seeker I've been flying for the past two seasons is completely wood and foam, none of those fancy composites were using now
See ya Saturday, should be fun!

Why would you pick on a senior citizen over 62 that has had cataract surgery in both eyes, wears thick glasses to see, has had a triple bypass and a heart attack. Believe me if I had to fly a Leeker they would time me with a sun dial. It’s the plane not the pilot.
Also I would have won the race in Amery this year if you wouldn’t have invited a ringer in named Seafoam (funny name for a guy from KC) who midaired me after cutting 3.
And as for your tail, you should try to stay out of the way of a faster plane.
See you Saturday.

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
For anyone who is interested in the kind of guy Randy is.. One time he clipped off the tail of my Seeker and without missing a beat yelled at me to get out of the way, yes this was during the race.. I will have you know that I landed the Seeker in the trees upside down and it was flying again the next weekend.. I've had an R-200, a hit like that would have taken everything behind the wing..

RE: Seeker Fuse Kits
Cut 3???
If memory serves, after a blatant R-200 first lap cut on #1, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 feet short. The venerable BoP closed the gap and began the pin high perfect line pass around 3. The massive speed through 2/3 caused a Vortex and sucked your R-200, from 100+ feet wide, back into it's path...
It might have been a gravitational field as well, it IS pretty beefy. I say it IS because it still resides poised for action in the fleet. While out of shame for such a speed deficit, the R-200 tried to replant itself in the parched WI soil...
That's how I remember it anyway.
Winter blows, let the games begin...
