RE: Nylon wing bolts
yes, remove the blind nuts from under the wing bolt plates - easily done by putting a steel bolt into the blindnut and gently tapping each one out- and then thread the plywood wingmounts with 6mm or similar - trevor h,[:@]nz

RE: Nylon wing bolts
Jan,
If you change to a nylon bolt, I would go with 1/4"-20 for the front and a 10-32 or 10-24 for the rear bolts. This is what most Q-600 planes use for the main wing. If you want to still use the blind nuts, I would suggest you switch to an aluminum bolt instead of nylon. You will still save some weight, but the aluminum would give you the extra strenght you will need. I get my stuff from [link=http://www.microfasteners.com/index.cfm]Microfasteners[/link], who seem to have the best prices and the best selection for what we do.

RE: Nylon wing bolts
you are better off using countersunk heads- go get yourself a countersinking tool The c/sunk bolts sit flush with the top of the wing and allow you to put a piece of clear tape over them. makes forr a nice tidy job. regards trevor henderson[8D]nz
