Default Engine Weight data?

Q-25 racing is becoming popular in North Central Texas. Most guys are using ARF Vipers or a few Predator II's if they can find them. Because those airplanes were designed for .40 size engines, it is necessary to hang the OS-25FX out on a long mount in order to make the airplane balance.

I want to make a couple of airplanes that balance with the OS25 without adding weight or hanging the engine way out front but need weight data on a couple of engines.

I have TT 40Pro's and OS25-FX's which I can weigh, but need the weight of the Nelson Q-500 engine. Jett lists the weight of his Q-500 engine as being 16 oz on his site. I'll assume that it's accurate Can anyone provide me with the Nelson data?

Thanks in advance.

For some reason I thought they were only up to 17oz, I'll have to check tonight.

I do know there is a pretty big difference in spinner nut weights, as much as 1/2 an oz depending on which one you are using.

I got home late last night and was able to weigh the OS25-FX. With stock muffler (baffle removed) and a OS rounded prop nut, (no prop) it weighs 309 gr. or 10.85 oz.

I'll weigh the TT 40Pro (for 424) as soon as I take it off of my sport plane.

The OS 25FX backplate mount(s) you're getting weighs 1.5 ounces.
