Default Dominator 500 CG

I just finished building a Dominator and it's now balanced at 3 inches behind the leading edge. The plans show it at 2.5 inches behind the leading edge of the wing. Before I add nose weight, is the CG on the plans right on, or is it a more conservative measurement? I'm using standard servos for the conventional tail so I could probably switch them out for HS225s if I had to. Can't move much else. 600mah battery is up against the back of the tank. Power is a Thunder Tiger 46pro.

3" may be a little far back for that airfoil.

I remember mine ending up around 2 3/4".

I would start out at 2.5" and then move back if it feels a bit nose heavy. I always weight a new airframe that I have not set up or flown before a bit nose heavy just for the extra stability on the first flight till I get it trimmed out.

2 3/4 is about right as I recall for my Dominator. It can be a little further forward and will be alright with a sport engine even at 2 1/2. 3 will probably be a little jumpy and may require you to hold some down elevator when landing.

Thanks for the info. I'll switch out the standard servos. I have some hs85mg's I can use for the tail and that will lighten the plane by 1.28 ounces and hopefully shift the cg into the recommended range.
Here's a pic. Can't wait to fly it.
