Seaholm family will be there.

KCRChad our club meeting tonight. Looks like ~6-8 making the trek. Ibelieve a couple more from the Barnstormers are planning on it as well.

Should be a great time, looking forward to it...

After a deep discussion tonight, MO Racing decided only the top 5 places would be brought back to KCRC. We promise to havemercyon the inferior skilled flatlanders.

If I get my Viper finished, I plan on being there.  I believe at least three Barnstormers will be there.

Eddie - I'd love to make it to the first Wichita 3-pole 424 race in a long time (that I can remember), but there's a real good chance I'll be on my way to Italy by this weekend. It's up in the air at this point, but it makes it tough to plan to be out of town for the weekend.

I wish you guys the best, have a great time! I hope you "flatlanders" can make a good showing against those windy guys from MO...

Just looked at the weather forecast - looks good for a race! Warm, too - in the 90's.

Don't forget your favorite (well, maybe not your ABSOLUTE favorite...) beverage, and sunscreen!

All that sunlight reflecting off EJ's chrome airplanes might cause burns!

Well we are coming to invade the flatland.  So far tonight we have Lonnie, Moe, Steve, Rick, Robert, AJ, and myself-we will all be at the campground sometime tomorrow night.  Hope Eddie is a little nicer to me this race, he was a little hard on my airplane last time-just kidding.

See ya at the field tomorrow night

I got most of the field mowed last night and it should be in great shape for the race. Eddie - we just need to have you finish up the remaining mowing if you want to race tomorrow.

Carl and I plan on coming down tomorrow morning, then probably hanging around for the clinic/ practice day on Sunday, too. Turns out I won't be in the land of real authentic Italian food till next weekend or so.

Duane, don't forget your sunglasses, don't want that chrome to blind you!

To all of the wichita guys - thanks VERY much for throwing a race and inviting us! Carl and I had a great time, it was good to come back to Wichita for a 424 race.

Please pass along our thanks to the club members that might not read it here.

Scott - good to see you again, glad you were able to make the long trip up. And thanks for letting me fly your sport Q40 plane, that was superb fun! I'll have to see if I can come up with one to fly, it was too much fun not to!

Again - thanks to all, EJ, got the e-mail with the pictures, and looking forward to seeing you all at the fall races in KC/Hillsdale/Wichita!

Default RE: AMA 424 Race - Wichita Kansas

Just returned to Nashville after a great 424 race in Wichita. It was thier first 424 race in many years. I thought the race went VERY well. There was tight racing and very little carnage. Good job guys.

It was great to meet and talk to so many of you racers. Up unitl now, I've only known them by their discussion forum names.

Thank you Scott for letting me fly your Q40 Sport plane. I am very tempted to get one. This is a very appealing combination of airframe and engine - - faster than 424, but very manageable for someone who is only used to 424 speeds, and they have great visual appeal. I could see myself racing in this class. We need some races for these planes. It's like the chicken and the egg situation. Hardly anyone has them, therefore no races; no races therefore no reason to build one. I'll state right here and now that I'd fly in that class if there were races. Heck, I'm getting one anyway (for a winter project). I'd work on having a Q40 Sport race here in Nashville, but it would have to be two-pole, for a number of reasons. I strongly suspect that no-one would travel here for a two-pole Q40 Sport race, so . . .

Thanks again to Mike Tallman and his crew for hosting and running an excellent race. I'm looking forward to one of the Kansas City area races next fall. I can't make the fall Wichita race though - - conflict with one of our local races.

Doug - you're more than welcome at our race at Hillsdale, and I'm sure AJ would say the same for their race at KCRC in Kansas City.

It was great meeting you, glad you came back out Sunday for a bit and had a chance to fly that Q40 sport. I pulled an old plane out of my attic storage room, and started figuring what servos to use, etc, with the intent of putting a TTpro 40 in it (Nemesis from several years back). No promises, but Iam looking forward to fixing up the plane and trying it out. Needs new tail feathers, etc, but it should be doable sometime this summer, provided I don't have to spend too much time traveling for work.

Good luck and have fun with the races aroundNashville!

Thank-you to Mike, Eddie, Vic and the WRCC crew.I very much enjoyed the 424 race and the GREAT flying facility. This would be an excellent location for a 428/422 race someday should our numbers support it.
In the mean time, I’m having a blast flying 424 on the short course.Low cost airframes, closely matched speeds, and a similar cadence to the faster classes. The thought of pasting $200 worth of airframe and motor doesn’t seem nearly as harsh.
The workers did a great job, the experience from all those weekly races showed.
Thanks again, and we look forward to the September race.
Keep doing what you’re doing. This is one way to keep pylon racing alive and well…
PS – Vic remember to pack extra undies for the NATS, you’ll probably need them, that PBII is smoking fast.
