RE: KCRC Fall 424/426 2-Day Race
Logan almost backed out. He is passing up a money making job this weekend to be our starter.[:-] I begged him to come out and start for us since does such an out standing job. Hopefully we can take care of him well and make him not regret it! (He is 16 remember that age money and girls)[:-]

Hey Show-me guys do I have this sport-jett over propped, only gets 19,300 peaked? Should I back the prop down to a 8.8x9.0? I guess it doesn't like this 8.8x9.25?

Once again, a great race thrown by the KCRC crew. The workers did an outstanding job, I only recall one re-fly during the whole day on Sunday and I don't even know what that was for.
From a pilots point of view, the light system that KCRC is really great. It's helpful for your caller to be able to know at a glance for sure what lap you've completed and if you have any cuts (or if the other guys do).
There were some excellent races - but none of them involved me! I didn't get home from Minnesota until 2:30 that morning, and I think the lack of sleep and lack of preparation didn't do me any favors. I know, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
The 424 fly-off for first was a GREAT race. Duane and Lonnie really put on a show.
I'd bet that someone from KCRC will posts results before too long. All in all, it was a really fun event, as usual! All of you ought to make it to one of the KCRC races next year!

RE: KCRC Fall 424/426 2-Day Race
The KCRC Fall Pylon Race is in the books. Thanks to all that came out to support this event.
I’m dubbing this “The Largest 424 Race in the United States” and will continue to until I see higher entry totals.
Highlights:
- 2 days of 424 and 426 action
- 25 registered in 424 both days
- 10 registered pilots in 426 on Saturday, 8 426 pilots on Sunday
- Incredible competition in both classes, close races heat after heat
- INCREDIBLE steak dinner Saturday night by Chop and Sarah Ulledahl, sorry Cranfill, you ain’t got nothing on Chop
- Seasoned work force, 1 re-fly in 100 heats of racing
- 1st place fly-off Sunday between Duane and Lonnie will go done as one of the best 424 heats of all time
- The best starter ever, 16 year old Logan
- Tear jerking farewell speech and card given to me during the award ceremony by my bud Ken Van Tyle. Very much appreciated to all that signed the card and donated to the relocation fund.
- Clean Sweep Tallman making his presence known in both classes, both days. Proving in many heats and overall that Old Age and Treachery does in fact beat Youth and Exuberance.
- Jim Padelt joining us from SoCal.
- Stealing Lonnie’s Fast Time in 426 by .03 seconds, sorry bud.
- 3 year old Emma Ulledahl cheering dad and grandpa on in the final 426 heat over the PA system
I’m sure I’ll think of more highlights once the exhaustion starts to reside. I’ve gotten too much credit for the success of this event. It’s a group of people that makes it happen. My personal thanks to CD Craig White, Robert Williams, Duane Hulen, Kelly Hulen, the Hulen family and friends for providing the #1 workforce, Lonnie Finch, Steve Engleman, Rick Hobbs, Mike McFarland, and the other dozen KCRC members that make this event possible. THANK-YOU.
I will post the results and photos in the next couple days. Once again, thank-you to all the pilots that came out to support this event. 30+ registrations both days is simply AWESOME!
Congrats to the winners, you guys earned it.
AJ

RE: KCRC Fall 424/426 2-Day Race
Thanks AJ, Duane and all the workers that help put this race on.
I for one had a blast both racing and watching. There were some of the closest races I've ever seen and it makes it even funner when your apart of them.
AJ no problem on stealing the fast time away. I'll get it from you some time, you know in one of those races you can't keep the engine running.
Duane I'll never forget the flyoff we had. It is defiantly the best race I've flown since I started doing this 3 years ago. I also appreciate you double cutting so I could relax a little bit the last lap. Sorry to steal first away from you in the race and in the MO-KAN series.
On a little bit of a personal note. I want to thank everyone for all the advice and help they have given me to help me get to the point I'm at. A special thanks to AJ for all the help you've given me and for forcing me to go to Muncie last year and taking me under your wing and walking me through everything. I couldn't have done any of this without you and wouldn't be this far along. You will defiantly be missed by me and the Finch family.

He showed me how to properly set the bearings and get a little end play on the crankshaft. I'm sure that is nothing new to the guys that have been around for a while but for a newbie like me it was some very beneficial information. It took me from 16,400 in practice on Friday to 16,800 on Saturday for the races.
