Streamlining the Viper 500

I know it is not legal to race, but it is fun to blow away anything else on the field.
The streamlining makes is sweeter to look at, and faster in the air.
Streamline was accomplished with expanding foam, balsa, and Gorilla Glue. It is formed right over the engine case.
The streamlining in back of the the engine is an idea from the extreme speed crowd. It is part of a viper wing.
I will hang at least a 9X7 or 9X8 on that TT Pro .40 It should do about 140MPH. Hard to get a radar gun on it with so little frontal area.
Now doesn't this look slicker than some old engine hanging out front?

RE: Streamlining the Viper 500

Looks like a good start! I don't think you are going to see any huge gains in speed though. The motor is already in turbulent air from the prop. IMHO, the biggest drag producer on a Quickie is the LG. If you are just fun flying it, why not remove them?
