Heartland Speed Freakz Spring Race May 2nd-3rd
 

Yesterday's warm weather reminded me that racing in the Midwest is right around the corner and will be here before we know it. So I figure it's a good time to get the word out on Heartland Speed Freakz' first race in 2015. It will be the typical rip-roaring good time that we've had for the last 2 years at the Lake Afton RC park in Goddard, KS. The flyer is in process and will be posted as soon as possible.


The race will be on May 2nd & 3rd. Friday the 1st will be open to all classes for practice, with the poles up by noon. Saturday the 2nd will be 424 and 426 on the short course, Sunday the 3rd will be 424 and 422 on the long course. Magnum fuel will be provided for the race and Friday's practice as well. I'll start off stating that teams will be limited to 3 people per team but this might have to be adjusted based on attendance. As usual it will be 3 plane heats and we'll get at least 5 heats per class.

Great flying site, without a bad seat to watch the race
Plenty of matrix fillers from the flat lands of KS to beat up on
The CO boys will be disoriented from not being so high
Great lunch and deserts prepared by Vernelle Tallman
Eddie has promised to have the fans turned off that weekend to keep the winds under 15mph :D

I'm happy to announce that thanks to the generosity of Randy Etken we will be giving away an R-200 at the race. Randy will custom make the plane with the raffle winner's choice of scheme and 2 colors and it will be shipped directly to them approximately 3 to 4 weeks after he's told the scheme. Like we did last year for every entry fee you pay you will receive a ticket for the giveaway. So you guys that fly all 4 events will have the best chance of winning.
