Practice Day At Old Julian Airport Race Course With Video

Well, my last time to practice before next weeks race. The field looks great!! Mike has done a wonderful job getting the race course all setup and laidout. His grass came up well and the course is nice and flat. Take a look at the pictures. Guys you missed some good practice. Trey found number 2 with his club 40 racer but John Gibson was able to land it for him so he has a fixable racer for next week. I flew my BuckShot a few times just to try to get use to the 3 poles again after 20+ years!!! Mike had his Katz Meows out both Q25 and 424 as well as John with his Quickie 25 Buckshot, 424 HoleShot and his 428 Wham-Bop Special!! Here are a few pictures and a few videos of the days flights. Enjoy!!
Bob Harris PS: Here is a crude video of some of the Wham-Bop-Special and BuckShot in action. John Gibson at the sticks!! Sorry for the shaky camera!!:D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmhjpknG-Ts |

Your field looks great BobHH. The pic of the Q-500 that has a see through wing (were you can see the ribs) What Q-500 is that ? I have never seen a Q-500 like that. ;)

Budman, that is my BuckShot Quickie 25. Its shown on the last part of the video also. A great little model. Not all Quickies had foam wings!! The original Spickler Quickie 500 had a built up wing. I'm currently working on a builtup wing version of my HoleShot 424. A built up wing can be just as strong as a foam wing but lighter!!
