fuel soaked wood
Had the landing gear come out of my Goldberg Extra due to fuel soaked wood. There isn't a store in town that sells K2R. Is there anything else that I can use to get the oil out??

I have also used a heat gun and a paper towel with good success in the past. You heat the wood until the oil rises out of it, wipe it off and do it all over again. Repeat as needed until all the oil is out of the wood. Probably not as good as K2R, but it has worked for me.
Maybe you could improve on this method by following up with the baking soda/cornstarch method Dazzler recommended.

Cut out the soaked wood and replace it.
K2R is a carcinogen, and you'll either breathe it
or get some on you. And if the wood is soaked,
you'll never get it all out.
How the heck did the oil soak the landing gear?
From the exhaust?

k2r source
Click on the link below to order K2R via the internet and receive it in the mail. My local Walmart stopped carrying it also and this place advertises it online and charges a very low shipping fee

smoke oil
its actually smoke oil. The way the original builder set up the smoke system is kinda screwy. Every time you go inverted, smoke oil dumps out in the fuse. I haven't put any smoke oil in the plane since I (third owner) have had it. Thanks for all of the advice and help.

This doesn't solve the problem of wood that's already been soaked, but put a check valve on the vent line of your smoke tank. This will keep the oil out of your plane.
