Default OS .25 low end tune

Hey guys I was tuning the motor I got the high end dialed in and just below 1/2 throttle she dies. Called up a buddy and explained this to him. He then asked me does have a low end needle or an air bleed screw ? Well I thought it was a needle until I removed the cowl , theres a screw just forward and slightly above the throttle controll arm and a tiny hole at the front of the carb. My question is what is the difference and how dose the air bleed screw opperate ? NJ
