Default Outrunner motor mounting on Beaver

I have a GWS Beaver and I am adding a Outrunner motor. The motor and mount are longer than the GWS 400 motor/mount that came with the kit. Do I need trim my engine mount stick or is it normal for part of the motor (outrunner portion) to extend pass the cowl?

No, it is not normal for the outrunner portion to extend past the cowl. You will need to trim your engine (motor) mount stick. Make sure you rebalance the plane afterwards.
