Got "Tail Waggle"???.....
Gents, esteemed colleagues, and the rest of you guys… Quick question on tail waggle. Here’s the set up: Hangar 9 Extra 260, DA 50, Hitec Hi Torque Digitals.
The plane only seems to “tail waggle” in the turns. Climbs, dives, knife edge and the rest of the fun there are no earmarks of said tail waggle. There’s no play in the linkage at all and the hinges are rock solid, so what’s the deal? Any insight is much appreciated, this is really starting to frost my melon!!!......

RE: Got
I had tail wiggle in a SD-Models Yak. I solved it by adding a hose over the trailing edge. Take a plastic hose approx 1/2 inch diameter and slit it its entire length. Put it over the trailing edge its entire length. This effectively thickens the trailing edge. I did not need any glue as the force from the hose gripped the trailing edge sufficiently to hang on. You can try this and if you don't like it, simple take it back off.
I think the wiggle is more likely to occur when the rudder has a large aerobatic counterbalance (lot's of area in front of the hinge line).

RE: Got
The Hanger 9 Extra 260 has been around long enough that if there were an airframe issue it would be posted somewhere on here, but i havent heard of it. I'd start looking elsewhere, just my thoughts....Gene

Arrow,
Just for your reference, this last year’s thread has discussed a similar problem extensively:
