Default receiver crystals

I have a Futaba FP-R148DF dual conversion 8 channel micro receiver. I also have 2 futaba radios... one is on channel 17 and one on channel 40. Does it make a differents which crystal (17 or 40) I get for that receiver.

Yes it matters. These were either high or low band. It should be marked. If high, use 40, else use 17.

That and most older Futaba Receiver are tuned for High (36-60)and Low (11-35)bands, they recommend using Crystals in the appropriate band,, 17 would be low, 40 is high,,

What ever crystal came with the receiver, I'd stay in the same range

There is a red dot on the inside of the RX to denote high and low also. I have it written down someplace in my shop if that denotes high or low but off the top of my head I can't recall what is what?? The dot should be on the side where the crystal goes. Perhaps someone here knows without me digging through my papers and will post up?

Gene,
If there is a red dot present then the receiver is high band. No dot and it's low band.
