Futaba 7C: servo question
What servo could I use to fit tray with 1 3/16" x 13/16" (30mm x 21mm) openings? My S3114 is far too small but S3004 is much too big. It's for a Great Planes J-3 ElectriCub II and the Tower Hobbies site states to use a mini servo (which is why I bought the S3114s). Any recommendations would be helpful. I want to adhere to these dimensions if possible since the wing mount is already installed.

You say one servo is too small? can you glue in a piece of wood to mount the smaller servo? Remember torque of the servo is a requirement more than size...

RE: Futaba 7C: servo question
I can modify the tray mounts so the S3114 servos will fit, but I'm curious if there is a different servo they had in mind for the kit? Plus the S3114 talks about not using it in large planes; I doubt this qualifies as a large plane...which leads into your following point. I remember reading the torque requirements which is why I went with S3114 also. I will confirm torque and probably modify mounting trays accordingly. But there is no in-between servo size between standard (S3004) and mini (S3114) right?

How about a 3115? It is slightly bigger then a 3114 but no where near standard servo size. You can get the dimensions off towerhobbies.com.

RE: Futaba 7C: servo question
Hewey19, that's the perfect solution. Thank you!! An S3115 Ibelieve is the dimension that was intended for the plane's trays. But each servo is $5 more than the S3114; so I'll just change the wing servo. Thanks again!!
