Default Great Planes p-51d

I have just finished assemblling this cool ARF and am about ready for my test flight. I would like to find a 4-Bladed prop for this airplane, since the two blade or even the 3 blade just doesn't look right. Any thoughts? I run a 10/6 two blade on the TT .46 engine that powers this bird. Jim.[8D]

Two blade props don't look right, but 4-blade props don't work well.

Besides, when you go 4-blade, you have to reduce the size by about 2 inches, so it still doesn't look right.

There is an important reason that most scale contests that include static judging allow for the use of scale static judging props then a change to flight props for the flight portions of the contest with no points deduction.

The 2-blade props don't look quite as odd if you spray them black and add some yellow tips. I top-coat them with flat Lusterkote clear. Sometimes I rub some flecks of aluminum colored paint on the leading edge and tips for a more realistic affect. Just be sure to use light even coats so you don't distort the prop shape and check the balance when done. It isn't a perfect solution but it does help a little.

They pretty much all look alike when the motor is running.
