how to patch hole in old fabric plane?
My friend has an old painted fabric covered Fairchild that he needs to patch but doesn't know what type it is. How should he go about it?
Thanks,

well that's just it he doesn't know what kind, it's old maybe built in the 70's and I assume it is silk and dope. And about twice as large as a pencil eraser so it's not large.
Thanks,
Jim

For a hole that small I think silk and dope would be fine. In fact almost anything would be fine. Matching the paint probably be the hardest part
