Actually Fed Ex ground is way cheaper than UPS and as they are a freight company they do not have to charge oversize fees just the standard size and weight charges. Most people don't have access to the tools or materials to construct a proper box. Plus a proper box would cost around 100-200bucks when you considertime and materials. Most trucking companys also work well and aren't that bad expense wise but a pain to arrange home delivery. Don

Don't think it is a matter of not being able to ship, but of not being willing to ship. Guilty of this myself. Sometimes just not worth the hassle.

I can understand why. I've shipped two, fairly small planes, in the 60 to 72" wingspan size. It was a real pain to get boxes large enough to accomodate the aircraft, and enough packing material to keep it safe.

How about a 80" wing airplane like a 1/5 scale T-28. The create would be 82"X35"X35".

Thanks

The UPS Store will now ship larger boxes. The will ship a 1/5 scale T-28 fom MO to WA for around $100 packed and shipped.
