Default NiCad vs NiMH

I am installing an on board glow driver and want to replace my C cell 1800mah NiCad with an AA 1650mah for lighter weight. Can you run a Nickel Metal Hydride inplace of the NiCad? Andwould it damage the charger?
Thanks
Steve

It will work fine. I use both and use the same charger. Never had a problem.

Your on board glow doesn't care what the chemical processes were that made the voltage...as long as the voltage is correct

I understand that the source of the 1.2vdc is of no concern for the resistive load of the plug, I guess my main concern was charging ta NiMH to capacity and discharge performance as well as charger issues.
My NiCad charger is designed for the chemical make up of the NiCad, so it raised a concern.
