Default Sticky Tx stick assy

I have a couple of older Futaba R/C transmitters that have sticking [open gimbal?] stick assemblies that I suspect are a result of congealed exhaust residue.

The return springs still return the sticks to the neutral position very slowly...

I'm hesitant about spraying contact cleaner into the stick assemblies because I'm afraid it may attack the plastics.

Is there a better way to get them working like new again?

Thanks for any help.

Default RE: Sticky Tx stick assy

I would say alcohol would be safe enough.

Disassembling and cleaning each individual part with a q-tip soaked in alcohol would be better.
