Default **** coat weight

Are the transparent ****coat products lighter than the opaque cousins? It's been a long time since I've used ****coat.

Yes but only the weight of the pigments but that's quite a lot. I have only tried the Ultra and Mono but have seen others advertised as light weight and have no knowledge of them at all. They may be lighter yet?

If you check Hanger 9's website you can find the "planned" weights of the different Ultracote product lines: standard, transparent, lite and parklite. They range from .3 oz. per sq. ft. to .12 oz. per sq. ft. Our friends at Top Flight (monkeycote) could pretty much care less if you know the weight or not.

According to Top Flight, Monokote weighs in at .2 oz. / sq. ft.

Also, according to Hanger 9 there is an EasyCote that is made by the same manufacturer as Ultracote. No information about it what so ever.

The reason I'm asking.... I wish to build a framed up 3D type electric using the plan form of one of the popular fomies. It may be a waste of time but I thought it would be fun to try. Plan on using the same electrons/motor as my current PPE rig.

Somebody tell me to "go pound sand" before I go to far with this idea.

Maybe I should go to the 3D forum

The problem is, I have three planes on the board now in one phase or another of construction. Some would say it is more like destruction.
