Need help from creative covering people
Ok, one of my favorite websites is thechive.com, it is not adult, but I would not have my boys around when I visit it. Anyways, I want to try to put thier saying "keep calm and Chive on" onto my newest airplane, a 20 size stik (38" wingspan) I have apple green ultracote covering and some white and black, I am looking for ideas on how to cover my plane. It is a high wing stik, basic box fuselage and simple surfaces. If I really like your design, I have an extra thechive mouse pad that I would be willing to send to you.
Thanks
Jon

how about some green shapes over the white so it looks like chive laying in a bowl of sour cream, or dip... then maybe a potato chip somewhere? hahahahhha
Maybe a decal of a turkey on the bottom? You know... like CHIVE TURKEY

You know, this isn't what you wanted, and it would only look good if done right using multiple colors and shading like the waving flag covering thread.
But wouldn't it be kind of cool if you made big green olives with the red pimento inside, and then the tint covering to make it look more 3 dimensional?
odd yes, funny sorta

Thanks for the help, I think I am just going to do a basic stik look and have letters on the white part instead of the iron cross. I am partially surprised that there are not more chivers out there. It is an interesting web site, it has a lot of funny photos and videos and a few photos of ladies.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

LOL - looked at the site and my good ole software blocked 17 potentially nefarious scripts. That's a record for me. Don't want to know what those scripts were lookin' for.
Start with a white base including a white spinner. Then use the green for stripes, create threads (like a wood screw) that emanate from the tip of the spinner and wrap the fuse to the tail so the fuse looks like a big screw. Apply Batman-like green wings on each side of the wing tops with scallops like the edges of Batman's cape over the top of the stab / elevator and sides of the fin / rudder.
Better yet - don't and I'll use the scheme on my next project ...

I "aquire" a profile view of the airplane and go into the "paint" program and just start coloring. I'll eventually make dozens of paint schemes.

My wife has a cricut vinyl cutter that I think will cut monocote or ultra cote, I am going to try to cut some this weekend, it could make covering much easier. An added bonus, she has hardly used it, so it is basically mine to play with, hopefully it will work well.

Couldn't find any 2-views for a Stik. Found some plans for an Ugly Stik. Here's the resulting profile for side &top. Get the crayons out ...

)) thanks, I need to figure out if I want to make a cowling for my electric motor. I like your spiral idea, but I think it might look better on a rounder fuselage plane, I am thinking about making a smoothie next, and might try that on that plane.
Here is my friends almost finished plane (he helped me scratch build his and my plane in one day at his house from a pile of balsa)
