RE: I can't get this new engine to start for anything

    Hi Veraster,

It has been a while, but I think RealFlight allowed you download some upgrades for free with free add-ons if you had 4.5.

You may want to check out the RealFlight site, to check and see if you can download anything.

One trick you might try to get it to run is to prime it with cigarette lighter fluid. A squirt of lighter fluid directly into the carburetor will get it to fire up if it's going to fire up. Won't matter where your needles are or what kind of fuel you are using, some raw lighter fluid in the carb will make it run. If you've got compression and it does not run, you have a bad glo plug. By a squirt, I mean a few drops. I keep a can of it to start ice cold engines in the dead of winter. After priming it with the lighter fluid, rotate the prop through a couple full turns WITHOUT THE GLOW STARTER plugged in to ensure that it's not hydro locked. If it is clear, plug the glow starter in and flip the prop. It will start.
