Default Landing gear mains

I have a trainer, Avistar, and due to several field dart exercises, the nose wheel and firewall has been slightly used so to speak. I have seen on these forums Avistar converted to conventional gear. Question is which gear, metal, was used like Dubro etc. also which tailwheel assembly. I was thinking of steering with the rudder attached to the wheel rather than servo. Any information would be great. So waiting patiently because you guys know your stuff . gphil

Don't know about an Avista specifically, but you need to move the mains forward until the axle is about even with the leading edge of the wing.

Here's a link to a previous thread:

The tail wheel can just caster or you can add something like a Sullivan.
