IMHO with all the quailty radio systems out there...It just doesn't make sense to convert a 6 channel to 2.4.
First of all, at least here in the States, 72mHz is still a good freq band for RC.
The cost of converting to 2.4 could be applied to a new bigger system. The price of 2.4 is coming down.
I know when I first started flying I never dreamed I could use 9 channels but I have indeed on one airplane.
You never know where this hobby is going to take you. When it comes to Radios and engines get the best and biggest you can.

If your radio does not have a plugable module on the back then no it cannot be converted. As for cost, I converted a 9C to 2.4 and if memory serves me correct it was around $225.00, which included a receiver. Good luck, Dave

If it's legal to use in the UK, I'd just check the battery real good and go flying with it. They are a nice radio and unless you need something bigger just use it . ENJOY !!! RED

Fr sky is making a DIY conversion kit for older 72mhz radios. It requires some soldering as I understand it so that would be an option, assuming it will work with yours. You might consider contacting them to see if it will work for yours.

Here's another UK based company that seems to have more information about the conversion and an online support forum.
