Funny Gerry should bring that up. Even in the lat 50s and into the 60s {even today} suites were worn when we went out for special occasions and to go to church or church functions in. Back then a hobby shop could and would often be opened on Sunday too when kids had the time to go shopping, even after church.
That shop was located at the end of Van Neys Blvd. and back then it was a nice area. I haven't gone back to the valley in a lot of decades so I have no idea of what it looks like today. That was the turn around area for cruising the Blvd. when I was a teen. Those were some fun times. The flat top was never a style anyone in my group wore. Some of the guys had it flat in the center with side wings and a DA in the back though. I moved to the Valley in 59 and then moved out in 63. Warlords and Satan Slaves. Wonder why my folks moved?
