Mascot or Pilot figure pics
I have finally gotten a plane with a see-thru canopy and am considering putting in a mascot or pilot figure. I think that it would be great for everyone to post pictures of there mascots here so that we can see what has come from all those hours of shopping at Toys-R-Us and digging through your kids toy-boxes. Come on,, you cant tell me you aren't guilty of lifting the lid and fumbling through your children's toy-box. I know there are some crazy looking pilots out there and would love to see them.

I routinely check the discount areas in toy stores, and WalMart for possible pilot figures. This hobby is supposed to be fun, right! There is a thread in one of the forums called "show me your pilots" or something close to that, which has about 8 pages of pilot pictures.

'We be toys & stuff' had a colleciton of 'Animal Crackers' cartoon animals. I thought these were great pilots! But I figured these would be around for a while. Nope, none to be found anymore!
I have found, that most kid's toys are either too big, or too small to fit. And the ones that do, are in the $15+ range..
Value Village, adn the Salvation Army have toys, and the older ones too! And that they are usually much, much cheaper! Value village usually sell bags of figurines, 5 / 10 per bag, for $5!
I have moutned a few stuffed animals in mine, and have had to 'amputate' thier legs. My girlfreind always cringes at the thought, and cannot watch me 'bisect' one..

She should come to my shop when I use the band saw to make my figures fit. You must be shopping in the wrong stores for pilots. I have a whole box full of possible pilots that I know I didn't spend more than a doller or two for each. They are all the right size for .40 to .60 sized aircraft. The head is the most important part, you can always carve the bust portion and a lot of these figures come with clothes so you can use these to hide the body portion. Check out the "dollar" discount stores also.

Hi Tycer - I also was interested in this. I started a thread in Tips and Techniques called
Let's See Those Crazy Pilots.
Here is the link to it.

Tycer,
Nothing to it once you get their front paws glued to the yoke, that's half the battle. After that just stuff the rest in and slam the canape shut.
