Throttle trim? You mean when you look down the carb intake it's fully closed? If so that is an air leak. There is a low idle set screw that most people remove or back out is that still installed and allowing the fast idle?

There really are only 3 causes for this. As jet suggested, the idle stop screw is in need or being removed, you have an air leak or the screw that secures the throttle butterfly is loose. Actually 4 as the butterfly could be mi-aligned. Is this the lowest idle you can get or lowest you can get reliably? Are you able to shut the engine down via TX?

All of the above have been checked. No you can not shut down engine via TX. 2200 rpm is lowest period. Have re-aligned butterfly valve. Have put gasket maker on all joints.

Rick, I'm at a loss then. If everything is sealed and the butterfly is closing then it HAS to shut down. No air, no run. I suggest you re-check everything mentioned. If you still have the idle stop screw in the carb remove it and toss in the garbage. You haven't said if it has been removed or not.

The idle screw is the first thing to be thrown in the garbage. The one place it could be getting air is through the front seal [prop shaft] This seal shows no sign of leaking [nothing leaking out] but it could possibly be letting air in??? Can't think of anything else.

I had a heck of a time with my DLE 20 not wanting to idol down.. I am not sure of the RPM because I did not have a Tach at the time but it was too high to land..It would idol down after about 20 seconds .. I had to set up to land way early.. It was the same thing , carb was completly closed and I just could not understand how it could be doing that.. Some body told be to change my stock DLE ign unit and put in a Rexel ign unit.. So I tried that and it cured the problem..It dosen't sound possible but it worked for me...I tried carb kits and Blah blah blah first.. I too have been around small engines for yrs..It works great now...
