Great Planes Piper J-3 Cub 40 Kit
Knowing that I run RC trucks my father in-law gave me a Great Planes Piper J-3 Cub 40 kit that he bought back in the early 90's for display but never built it. Without pulling everything out of the box it looks like everything is there including two rolls of monocote, iron, saw, xacto knife, sand paper, sanding block, etc. The original order form is still in the box with a Tower Hobbies magazine so I am almost 100% sure the entire plane and all of its components are also in the box. My question is how much would something like this sell for? I plan on going to a swap meet/free fly this weekend but don't have a clue what is reasonable. The link below is what it looks like I was given. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Tower asks $160.00. I don't think $100.00 would be out of line.

Kits are an anomaly in the RC hobby in that they hold their value fairly well. I agree with Tom that it would sell for $100. You could get the most out of it by parting everything out. Put the iron and tools on Ebay, possibly the two rolls of covering as well, then sell the kit by itself.
