having trouble with my retract system. I have an Aeroworks P51 with all the lines and sequencer installed. I'm trying to get it ready for its first flight but I know there is a leak from one of the valves (there are two) that the lines are attached to. I don't know if the seals are bad or dry but the plane has never been flown or out of my workroom. any hints or tricks would be appreciated. I have heard of guys spraying or putting some type of oil in the lines. has anyone had any luck with this?

Find out where the leak is. If the leak is at the connections, white lithium grease can be applied to the "O" rings to help seal. If this does not work, take out the air system and isolate the leak.

Air tool oil is made to condition seals in air pistons. Paintball gun oil is pretty much the same thing.

thanks, I think the leak is coming from the black seal around the cylinder that moves in and out on the valve. I will try to find the grease and the air tool oil from jester's suggestion as well. any other ideas out there are welcome as well

stick with silicone grease as oil will destroy the o-rings. You can get from most of the retract suppliers or at a pool supply house. Use a little soapy water on all the connections to find leaks.

Petroleum based oil will ruin o rings. Air tool oil is made for conditioning o rings.

got the silicone grease coming. I will also use some soapy water to confirm the leak site. thanks.
