Default Oldest Model you own

Hey all, I was just wondering how old is the oldest model you own? I have a Miles Reed 80" Extra 260 that is nearly 15 years old and a 13 year old GP Super Sportster 20.

Well my Dirty Birdy was built in 1985.. It's had several owners
For the new years fun fly I let the guy who built it take it out for the first flight of 2010

Then I have my Midwest Sweet Stick.. I built it in 86 or 87.
Did a total overhaul a few years ago..

I have a 35 year old Svenson Wayfarar Bip I built in 1975. I am in the process of recovering it now. I also have a GP Super Sportster with a OS 61 SF that I have been flying for 21 years. It is waiting for warm weather to start its 22 year of flight and has never crashed.

A 1963 vintage Taurus. I bought it from an old guy at a swap meet some years ago. Don't know exactly when it was built, but she still flies. It was rebuilt after a servo failure caused an unfortunate meeting with a tall, dead pine tree.

My Kraft Kwik Fli. Made in the eary 1970's; still has the original Kraft radio sticker on the side. It's finished in dope/coverall, I bought it at the Lebanon swap meet for $40. The engine is my dad's old period-correct OS .60 blackhead max, it's a beautiful flying plane. I have several planes from the 70's and 80's, for some reason I just like the older stuff better. I do have a Sterling "Lil Stinker" control line biplane from the 1950's; it was my uncles but it's never been flown.

I have a Carl Goldberg Ultimate that has been Flying since 1993. It's never been crashed but has been put through the ringer every flight. I have changed the radio from a first generation Airtronics computer radio to a JR computer radio, also the O.S 120 Surpass 2(that never idled right) was swapped for a Saito 125. I am now rebuilding the bipe after the covering started to come off on the last flight of the season. I will be restructuring the plane to handle a Saito 180 or an FG 30 or 36.

63? Wow, I didn't know the Taurus was that old, did they even have fully proportional R/C systems then? Still, that is a real shame that she went in, at least you rebuilt her!

That's truly amazing, do you still fly it regularly? I know I'd be afraid to! This is a really good thread, keep em coming!

78 byron f16, 81 yellow aircraft A4 skyhawk, 75ish royal P51 mustang 90 size, 74 top flight 90 size spitfire, and about 12 others all in either repair or restoration, Still love to fly the nitro powered ducted fan jets , really a lot of fun when the peanut gallery jaws drop when they see a 155 mph yellow A 4 running vintage os 77 power ,,, messy but much cheeper than electric...

AJ Walker Fierbaby with a cub .074 got it in 1949, no mo flying this one. However it might be like the guy who had an ax that was owned by Abe Lincoln, that had 4 new handles and the head replaced once.

Just getting started on restoring my grand dads old RC plane. Looks similar to the kwik fli posted above, but I have no idea what it is. Im sure it is from the 70's though.

Acobra: I would be interested in buying the AJ Walker Firebaby. I have an original engine for it. Mine was an .049. I need the airplane, if your are interested in selling or know somewhere I could buy one. I even have my original u-reely control handle with the wire still on the reel.

INTERESTING BIT OF HISTORY I HAVE HERE i have a 27% Skybolt fiberglass fuse check my gallery for still picture that was flown in 1984 TOC by Dean Koger here is the history link read 1984 and 1990 winners for info on this.. http://moleski.net/rc/toc.htm i got it from someone who got it from the guy that had it stored over 20 years and is in mint condition it has a Moki 210 and makes me look good flying it.. i see Mike McConville at my field and he wrote and told me it is a Dave Skully design...this plane appears to have become prototype to the next improved version then from my reading from John Britt was then the Basis for Great Planes Super Skybolt anyway here is video link to it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHJ41L510ps

I have a 1970's Goldberg Piper Cub. Someone found her in a barn and sold it to our LHS. I picked it up for penny's, recovered her. fixed the weak rudder tail wheel ass'y. I used all left over parts and covering, soaked the OS 40fp engine in oil for a few days, cycled the battery a few times, and flew her.
When i purchased this plane they said get this out of our shop, I love her.
