Do you mean Flotrol? That is just an additive to break surface tension. It works great, but is not a thinner.

I was just going to say the same. For me paint: 60%, windex 35%, Floetrol 5%. And that's all estimates.

When you guys use Minwax which one? Went to the Minwax site there are several to choose from and if I get the wrong one it can be difficult to recover from. On the Minwax site there were three that could fit the description could you please let me know which one you used.
1. Minwax ultimate floor finish water based.
2. Minwax water based spar finish.
3. Minwax water base oil modified polyurethane
4. Is Minwax fuel prof up to 20% nitro or do you clear cote and if you do with what.

Thanks is for your help.

I use this

http://www.minwax.com/wood-products/...tective-finish

and this

http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/produc...eze-kote-500ml

The EZE Kote I use to seal the wood only, and use the Minwax to apply the glass and finish layers. EZE Kote is fuel resistant so you wont get delamination from internal fuel spills, while your paint protects the Minwax on the outside.

Minwax Polycrylic is most commonly used. http://www.minwax.com/wood-products/...tective-finish

On my last glassing job I used Minwax Polyurethane. http://www.minwax.com/wood-products/...g-polyurethane It works well, is fuel resistant, and has no tendency to warp thinner sheeting.

I suggest that you prime it, first. Latex doesn't like to stick to smooth surfaces.

Still needs markings, but had to put her on her feet and take a look,,,

p.s.
Paint total quesstimation
I was looking at the Behr paint, they are actually 7.5 OZ cans, After finishing this, both the green and orange are just under half full, so I'd guess I used no more than 8oz of the flat paint. About 2oz of the ceiling paint flat white under the orange, Maybe about 2 oz of the satin clear, ooh, cowl is Rattle can flat black, with satin clear

Weathering is fun! You should look into getting an airbrush. They give great results.

Start with a little weathering and add until it suits you.
