Default Vintage 97" Fairchild 22, What size engine required for this airplane?

This will be a vintage 97" Fairchild 22 restoration. The airplane is a high wing open cockpit two seater. What size gas or 4 stroke engine will be required ?
Looking for suggestions.

The plane weight without engine and fuel is 6lbs.
Wingspan is 97", Wing cord is 17"
Fuselage is 66" long

Sounds like a four stroke glo in the 120-125 range would be good, a 20-30 in gas. Just my guess.

I've got the same Orline kit, from what I read over the last few years,I'd put a Saito 150/180,or a G38.Add some extra structure in the wing, guys were folding there wing.I was thinking about sheeting the spar to leading edge, and cap stripping.(open wing construction).good luck-jeffo

I found the 6 pound weight, without engine to be baffling. I would expect this model's total weight to be in the 16 lb+ ( with engine) range and suitable for a G-38.

The Orline Fairchild that I'm familiar with had a G-38 for power.

Thank you for the helpful information. I will weigh the airplane with a digital scale this time.
