Question Bill Evans Future Shock porpoising during take off and landing

Hi Everyone.

Have scratch built a Bill Evans future shock (electric) and it fly's well. The issue I have is when taking off it will get airborne and then tend to nose over and then fly out.

On Landing it comes in smoothly until it touches the ground, when I release the controls it starts to porpoise off the ground 2-3 times before finally settling.

Any Ideas?

COG is what is says on the plans.

Regards

Prboz

I have one too, that I have not flown yet. I got it cheap from a guy in the club that could not get it in the air at all. I am thinking the angle of attack set on the trike gear is the problem. In your case, likely the back wheels are a slight bit long? Just guessing, tell me how it goes as I will want to know maybe pretty soon if I get it going.

Here is my $15 one. Pretty sure it is the Future Shock, he designed quite a few similar ones. I have since cut off the cowl, and think I will use an LA .46, as there was quite a bit of tail weight screwed and taped on to the back for balance on whatever motor was on before. Likely a BB .46.

Hi!
First of all you have to check how the plane sits! Nose down and it will race down the strip and suddenly jump into the air ! No good!
To fix this the rear landing gear should be shorter than the front, that's Very important!

Jaka is correct make sure the leading edge of the wing sits a half inch higher than the trailing edge of the wing when on the gear
