Default Battery and Ignition Set up for 1.20 Size Plane

Folks - I'll be running a 20cc gas engine on a 1.20 size plane. I was thinking about saving some weight and going the IBEC route with one switch and battery for the entire flight pack. What are your opinions on the size of the pack I'd need for a good afternoon of flying (4-5 flights). Engine is a Saito FG-21 with RCxcel ignition and running 5 digital servos. Thanks!

For me it would be a two battery set-up ,probably a 1300 and 1800 LiFe.
For your one pack set-up I'd run at least a 2100 LiFe pack.

I prefer the two battery setup, too.

A 2500 A123 or LiFe would work find.

Dual batteries provide redundancy but I have used single battery up to 60cc with no issues.

Thanks guys - all good things to consider. Barracuda - do you feel a 2500 mah pack would do the job? Is that what you ran in your 60cc plane? If I need to go any larger capacity than that, I may just run two packs and be done with it. I sure like the simplicity of just a single pack and IBEC though.

I get 4 good flights with a 2500 A123 on a 60cc Corvus with big XPert digital servos and a DLE60 ignition. It pulls about 350mah per flight.

The nice part about A123's is with the power supplies we have at our field I could charge between flights if I wanted to, they charge so fast. Normally I fly 3 or 4 flights and charge it for the next outing while I'm packing up the trailer.

I agree on the Tech Aero, I use them and dual batteries/switches for redundancy. I do not use a separate battery for ignition.
