More information needed. Size and motor.

Define fishing line further is it Spectra or Dyneema [ good ] or monofilament [ bad ]

Coated steel line or Kevlar , carbon fiber thread are the best options

Kev-cord is my go to pull Pull cable. It's light, won't stretch and can't generate RF. Steel cable works but will eventually stretch, CF is great for certain things but would be even worse then what you already have.

Yep.... get that fishing line off there... That kev-cord is what I've used on a few planes. I've had it on a 50cc plane for years, and it hasn't budged. I also use it for flying wire rigging. For the crimps, I use aluminum tube cut down to about 3/8" length, then electricians pliers to do the crimp. I only crimp it enough to clamp the cord within tube tightly... as the crimping pliers can easily crimp right through the whole assembly... with practice you can crimp with regular pliers... but the electrician crimp pliers work best. Here's a few examples of crimps made from alum.tube.

Also.. the eyelet in the first pic is Sullivan brand. Those are nice and sturdy. I use those as much as I can. The kev-cord might not fit through your existing rigging, It's much thicker then fishing type line. All good though.

What I like to do is flow a couple drops of CA into the crimp then cover with a sleeve of heat shrink tube that matches up with the color scheme. Yes, I have also dyed nylon parts to match as well.

"back in the day" did you also use a colored antenna to match your color scheme? I remember some guys would do that! Ah, the 'good old days'....
