Aluminum tailwheel bracket

Aluminum tailwheel bracket
I've looked "everywhere" (well, at least all the sites I know where to look), and all I keep finding are carbon fiber tailwheel brackets. I have found a few aluminum ones, but they are so short that they don't look right and they make setup a little annoying. Aero-Works used to sell a nice aluminum bracket, but even they went the way of carbon fiber, besides they are closed down. Anyone know of a place I'm missing where I can find a nice aluminum tailwheel
bracket like the one pictured?
Thanks in advance!

I can't help you with finding one , but I can tell you that the aluminum tailwheel assemblies I have had came with Chinese ARFs and they all broke on the second or third flights
I agree they look good , but go with carbon fiber or steel .

My Sig Mayhem had a bracket just like that.
Worked perfectly. No failures, no bending.
Perhaps give Sig a call to see if they have such a thing in their hardware line.

1/8" music wire bent in a nice arc.
flat piece of thin steel with holes drilled in it to mount to fuse
chunk of brass for the tail wheel wire to go through and to attach to the other end of the music wire.
flat piece of steel for a tiller
propane torch
brazing rod
paint
Using these materials available from Lowes you could braze up a slick tail wheel assembly in an afternoon. Beat to fit and paint to match. Fun and easy.

My Feedback: (4)
Here's a bracket that will outlast anything. There's a size for every plane. Not aluminum, but the diff in weight for this small mass isn't enough to give a thought too.

The Ohio Super Star was not the best although OK.
The issue is that in all cases the bearing for the wire wheel fork, which is riveted to the spring, came loose and fell off. The solution was to get it before total failure and bash the ever lovin' crap out of it to tighten up the connection. Silver solder would probably work a well.
My mistake. That was not the Ohio tailwheel. It was one which was very much like it. Maybe CB Associates. The Ohio tailwheel had the tiller bar at the top of the wire wheel fork come off. Easy fix.
Everything eventually needs attention.

Go to a a local metal supplier or a welding shop. Pickup up some 6061-T6 in any lenty you want and about 1/8 inch thick. You may need to cut it a narrower width but bend it to shape and drill holes in the right places and make your own.
