Hello,

Got a Radian XL that does this never ending beep thing. Binds just fine, I have control, thottle, all seem ok. After a few minutes it does a long beep for about a minute. The beep stops. Then a few minutes later it beeps again, but this time the beep doesn't stop until I unplug the battery. Since I have control over the plane, I'm really confused as to if this some kind of alarm for something else? I'm a little hesitant to put it in the air until I figure out what's going on. The beep happens even if both the TX and RX batteries are fully charged, whether or not I'm moving the sticks.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have something " EXTRA " programed in. like a timer or what ever . Good Luck Red

Nope, not a timer. The tone is coming from the esc, not from the radio, whether I move the sticks or just let things sit

I doubt that it's coming from the ESC? It's probably coming from the motor.Call the importer.

No, it's not coming from the motor. It's coming from the little speaker attached to the esc that makes the beeps that let you know that you have power and that its armed and ready. But again, about a minute after the three tones as normal, i get a long, never ending tone. It's an alarm of some sort, I just don't know what's wrong or what to look for. I know the problem is unique to this plane, because my other foams escs don't behave this way

Upon further investigation, I found that the alarm will stop if I advance the throttle...

Think I got it figured out. What I noticed is that whenever I moved a ctrl surface or engaged the throttle, the tone goes away. It appears that it's an inactivity alarm. As I am setting this up at home, I'm not flying it so the plane is just sitting there. So it's not in the state as if I'm flying it. The surfaces are not moving and as3x is not correcting. I'd never fly it and just sit there not doing anything so chances are i would never hear the alarm at the field.

Currently I've got 8 flyable electric airplanes, and several more motors, and speed controllers. This count doesn't include my indoor electrics. Ever motor/ESC combination I have has the "beeper" in the motor.I helped a friend with a Radian XL a couple of years ago, and the "beeper" was in the motor. Someone educate me if there are "beepers" in ESC's?

No matter, I found that there was an extra teeter connected to the esc, it's a throttle alarm installed by the previous owner. If you read my earlier post, I said, "No it's not coming from the motor, it's coming from the little speaker attached to the esc."
That should have been my first clue, especially given my other electrics don't have this.
So if there's no activity, this device sounds. Helpful in finding the plane if you lose it. So no, it wasnt coming from the esc itself, it was coming from a device connected to the esc. If I disconnected this thing, it would act just like my other electrics and everyone else's.
Thanx for the patience, hopefully this helps someone else who might have this setup and not realize it.
