Default Nose weight?

I need to put about one pound of lead in the front of my 87 inch Ohio RC Extra 260 to get it balanced. I have a lot of room for the weight. What is the best way to secure the weight?

If your cowl can support it, pour lead shot mixed with epoxy around the inside perimiter of the cowl nearest the hole for the prop. Premix the batch in a slurry in a plastic bowl. If it's a polyester resin cowl, then use polyester resin (but use an aluminum bowl).

This is what I, and many other modellers do to add weight. the nice thing about this method is that the weight conforms to the cowl.

Because the weight is as far forward as you can get it, there's usually less required.

You can get 25LBS of lead shot from most gun shops.
