How much length to my wing should I add??
OK I have a old trainer that I have add a camera to. with batt. and camera stuff about
a pound and a 1/2.
The trainer now flys bad and is hard to takeoff and it lands like a rock.
I have the CG right. I think that now the wing load is to high.
I know there are better ways to fix my problem, but I was thinking I could add more wing to the plane. How would I know how much to add.
The plane now wights 8 pounds and the wing is 10 X 60
a pound and a 1/2.

The easiest thing to try first, is to droop both of your ailerons a few degrees. They will act as flaps to provide more lift. Try turning the clevises in (or out) about 3 complete rotations each. If it's still bad, try 3 more, but don't go past about a 10* deflection.

A bigger engine would help the take offs and you could add more
up elevator which would aid in landing. It sound like she is coming in
to fast due to the extra weight. You could also move the CG back
a little and would help the take offs and landings( Be careful
missing with moving the CG to the back) Do it alittle at a time.

Mike, If I move the ailerons to act as flaps, will this effect the amount of control I will have with them?
Only one servo in the wing.

Adding a bigger engine will ad power, but will also ad weight, and cost you. Adding up elevator will help nothing. Moving the CG back will make it more responsive to control input, but it's not going to help your situation.
If you are serious about the camera, you need to build another wing, or build a couple of bays onto your present wing. I'm guessing you want it to fly like a trainer, so get your wing loading down to 14-16 oz. per square foot.

Randy,
Yes, I don't know what I'm talking about. You say so, so it's obviously true.
You must be the expert, self appointed at least, so keep giving your expert advice, with your expert spelling and punctuation, and we'll all be much wiser for it.
Thanks once again for pointing up the FACT that you know it all, and I know nothing of which I speak. Because you say so, right? Har, Har.

Hey, Thanks for all the advice. I added down to the ailerons for flaps. Man that
helps on the takeoff alot! Could not tell much difference in flight, but thats ok it flys good enough for what am doing with it. As far as the landings, still drops in fast. I may try a little more flap next time.
We all have our own opinions and ways of doing thangs. If everone thought alike and there was one fix all for every problem, this would be a pretty boring hobby and the wrights would have never got off the ground.
