Engine Mount Glued in Place
I recently purchased a partially completed kit and I noticed the
original owner/builder had epoxied the engine mount to the firewall. The mount metal, and I want to replace it with a composite one. Besides who would glue in a mount even after using the bolts? Anybody have any suggestions ie removing this mount after it's been epoxied in? :spinnyeye jollyroger

Try using a heat gun. Heat softens epoxy.....If it's a big hunk of metal, you may need to get it even hotter. In this case, you might have to try to heat it with a Propane torch.
Heat the mount of course, not the epoxy itself.

I am currently building a Midwest Pitt's special that I bought in 1985. In this kit they direct you to install the metal engine mounts using a few washers on one side to angle the engine. They then tell you to fill the gap behind the mount with epoxy mixed with micro balloons. That might have been the hot set up once upon a time. Some habits die hard.
